Studied Cellular and Molecular Biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, TX (USA), Master thesis on prostate and prostate cancer physiology

Graduate studies at the Ruhr-University Bochum and the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology, Dortmund on novel approaches for the early detection of colon cancer. Awarded doctorate in sciences (Dr. rer. nat.), equivalent to a PhD research doctorate.
